Why and how should I subscribe to Petit BamBou?
A subscription (monthly, half-yearly, yearly, or lifetime) gives access to all Petit BamBou content: all meditation and breathing programs and the entire music catalog. The subscription also gives access to a "daily meditation," a session that changes every day. We regularly add new sessions.
What is meditation?
Petit BamBou programs are mindfulness meditation programs. Mindfulness is the practice of intentionally paying attention to the present moment without judgment (Jon Kabat-Zinn's definition). These exercises should be practiced regularly to train ourselves to look objectively at what is present, recognize that our thoughts are just thoughts, refine our ability to perceive our sensations and emotions, and so on.
What are the effects of meditation practice?
The effects of this practice are numerous and depend on the person, but above all, they are a result of the practice, not an end in itself. Meditation can bring for example greater mental clarity, better sleep, reduced stress and even a greater ability to understand and live with our emotions. All these possibilities are to be taken as happy surprises, as side effects of regular practice.
Why should I do breathing exercises?
You can practice mindful breathing exercises, in which you intentionally modify the rhythm of your inhales and exhales for a specific purpose. For example, to relax, help fall asleep, mobilize energy, or prepare for a physical activity. You can extend or shorten the duration, including periods of apnea on full or empty lungs, and so on. All this has in common is that when we're busy observing or altering our breathing, our attention is focused on one thing and not scattered in thoughts or mental constructs. It is a very relaxing, unifying experience you can do anywhere, discreetly, even for just 30 seconds. The easiest way to start is with guided exercises, which you can then practice on your own once you've mastered the technique.
