Jean-Philippe Lachaux is a research director in neuroscience working at the Neuroscience Research Center in Lyon, France. His research focuses on how the brain controls attention and concentration. He tries to answer everyday questions like: why do we get distracted so easily? Does concentrating require effort? How does attention help us perform better and learn more effectively?

Alongside his scientific work, he leads a long-term project aimed at promoting a gentle and positive approach to managing attention in society. This includes ATOLE, a program designed to help students improve their attention skills.
